First, on behalf of the reunion committee, let me apologize for not getting this information to you sooner. We're still working out some of the details and will continue to do so right up to the final week of the reunion.
I'm sure by now all of us have thrown a party or two during the course of our lives. Unlike those parties, though, this one requires the guests to pay for the party in advance. It's "impossible" to know how many people to expect, so we have to speculate, then make commitments based on those speculations.
In the old T.V. series, Mission Impossible, right after explaining the mission to Mr Phelps (Peter Graves), the tape would say, "as always, should you or any of your team be captured, we will disavow any knowledge of you. This tape will self destruct in 5 seconds."
According to your profile responses, 117 of you say you will be attending or plan to attend the reunion. We are also aware that some of the people we are in contact with--but who are not on our site--say they are coming to the reunion. We also know that many of us who plan on coming and live locally, won't be staying at the venue but will be attending the festivities.
We who are on the reunion committee have taken on the "mission" of guaranteeing that a certain number of people will be staying at the resort, as well as guaranteeing the number of people who will be attending the activities (see below). If these quotas are not met however, we will still have to pay, and the reunion committee just might self-destruct as a result.
Your mission, should you choose to attend the reunion, is to respond as soon as you can by reserving suites and letting us know that you will be attending. We haven't figured a price for the three days' activities (see below), but your responses through the web site will help us plan whether we can afford the Impacs or will need to hire a DJ.
You can enjoy an excellent buffet or choose Dominoes Pizza, and receive either wonderful gift bag with all kinds of trinkets or an inscribed pencil. Your choice.
My previous emails must have made me sound like the late Billy Mays, trying to evoke responses from you. But because of the internet and our ability to communicate through it, this has the potential to be one hell of a production.
Or maybe just a beer blast blowout. It's all up to you. So here goes:
