I hope all of you had a Blessed and Merry Christmas as well as a safe and Happy New Year. Time has passed quickly since our 45th and I am looking forward to our 50th. I pray that all of us are still here to attend. I hope things are going well for everyone especially with the way our economy, fuel prices and government are dictating the way we live. Some things are good though..........Tom Brady found out he wasn't all that, Tim Tebow still thinks he is, Peyton Manning will return, the Seminoles are still the best, NASCAR resumes shortly and above all, God is still in control. It wasn't a moose lodge my dad was a moose and I played for them in little league. it was like 'selma grotto' or some other lodge. the steak house was Moocks Tavern which relocated to pinellas park later. thanks for responding and for posing questions. I like waking up my memory and having help on the things that I forgot. i wish other people would pose some questions even if they don't know the answer because someone out there might and before long this would be like facebook only educational kind of an anti alzeimer site

here's one that I can't remember, what was the name of that motel that was north east of the Vinoy kind of where they have all the events now (rib fest, battle of the bands,etc)

If my dad was still alive he'd known. As a mechanic in St Pete all his life, he knew them well. They rebuilt the motor of my little 1973 Dodge Dart in 1985 after my son cracked the block in it. Loved that car.

McMillian's was on 16th Street and 30th Avenue. The Moose Lodge was across the street, . It was a block from Lester's Drive In. In December 1964 I was waiting for a bus in front of the drug store to Disston when Rex Bennett "picked me up". We went Frishes on 34th Street and ?? 28th for a coke and that was the start of it all. What did the Moose Lodge become in the 70's & early 80's? and what was the name? What was the name of the Steak House on 16th Street and 7th Ave or so?

now, another past recolection; remember the yellow dots we would find on the cars in the mornings after they sprayed for fruit flies, or the mosquito trucks that would go up and down the streets and smoke out the neighborhood and the idiots among us, me included, would ride our bikes behind until we got sick?

how about another trivia question: on 22nd ave. there was a junk yard called RSVP do you remember what that stood for.

the big shows were put on at Lealmon. they were produced by teacher Stacey R. Osley who took great pride in the fact that his initials were SRO a term used in theater for 'Standing Room Only'. I know this because my mother was in charge of the dancing and every year I had to be in one of the dance routines.

Hi Everybody, BIOYA! - I had a super great time last year at the tailgate and homecoming game. I'll be performing at the Weeki Wachee Eagles this year so I'll miss the homecoming game but wow I sure wish I would be there. Ya'll have a great time - I know it'll be great! Bill

Thank you Tom. Coming from a football GREAT at NEHI, makes me proud to be in the same class/year as yourself. The Viking helmet is in Marcia's garage and may be used at the home coming game this year.

Have a viking long ship on my desk to help me remember from where this viking came. It was good to see you last year, and Ihope we will meet again at the next reunion.

Having fun with "old age" medical problems. Had a stroke inside my left eye and am having sight problems. Been told I am in the beginning stages of Parkinson's, and had lower jaw infection. Dentist pulled all front lower teeth.

Planning to retire in early 2012. Hope that happens.

Been almost a year........

Last year about this time we were all getting ready to meet and it was an exciting time. I know for me it was and it was a great time. Many times during this year I have thought back on the friends that I got to see again that I spent my early years before all of the B.S. in life we had to deal with. Unfortunately there were many that are no longer with us and by the time our 5oth comes there will be many more. I know without any doubt over the last several decades I have been greatly and richly Blessed just like most of you. There are the good times and bad times, the ups and downs, grand-young-uns (10 in my case) and all life brings us and no matter what, it is still all good. Well may be not all good because as of July 1rst our illustrious governor decided he was going to balance the state's budget on the backs of the police, firefighters and teachers so he took 3% of our pay every month, reduced the drop to almost nothing and didn't blink an eye. But at least we have got social security - I hope. I've got a couple of more years to work anyway until I reach the maximum social security benefit age so it's nothing but a thing. I justed wanted to say hello to everyone that might be still out there looking at this great web site we have. The memories of old are still great just as the ones of a year ago. I miss all of you and pray that God will richly Bless you until we meet again. Tom.

At the 45th reunion I tried to get the words to the NEHI national anthem...BIOYA, to Joe, but that didn't work so well. SO, to the best of what I remember, it went like this:

For we are the VIKINGS, and w'ere from Northeast HIGH. You'll

know we have sprit when you hear our battle cry..

There is a school in Cincinnati, who are also VIKINGS, and need to

be informed of this little ditty. THIS will be my project when I retire next year.

Now you're talkin'. I have been a fan of the Derby since Secretariat won the Triple Crown in 1973.

That started a horse fever that kept me in Ocala ever since, riding and breaking thorughbreds from 1975 professionally, until 1989 when I finally hung up my (professional) tack.

I like anything Borel rides...he owns Churchill, but Zito is a force to be reckoned with and any horse he saddles is one to pay attention to ...but if Uncle Mo gets over his virus he could steal the show. I'll probably get a trifecta ticket and play it all three ways just to cover all the bases.
