van de STEEG, Gerrit Ignatius 62, passed away Feb. 24th in the care of Hospice. Born in Nampa, ID, he moved with his family to St. Petersburg in 1956. He graduated from St. Paul's Catholic School, Northeast High School class of 1965 & the University of South Florida. Gerritt was a Vietnam Veteran and will be interred at Bay Pines. Gerritt had a wry wit & a gentle spirit. He was much loved and will be missed in equal measure. Gerrit is survived by his wife, Loren Boynton van de Steeg & son, Evan Gerrit; 2 sisters, Beth v. Timberlake (Bob), Ann C. van de Steeg of St. Petersburg & 4 brothers, John Palmer, Ft. Lauderdale, Robert Madison (Sa), Orlando, Richard Joseph and Thomas Michael van de Steeg , both of St. Petersburg; 3 nieces, 4 nephews; 3 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew. |
