Harvey Johnson

Harvey Johnson

JOHNSON, Harvey Ray Former Medway, MA resident, 63, died July 4, 2010 in Tampa after a long and courageous battle with juvenile diabetes. Harv was the beloved son of the late Ray and Bernadine Johnson of Florida and is survived by his two sons, David Harvey of Florida and Robert Warren of Medway. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen Johnson of Florida along with nieces, nephews, their children and many cousins. Harv was a "Gator" and received both his undergraduate and Masters degrees from the University of Florida. He went on to an award-winning career in copywriting and journalism working in the newspaper, advertising agency and corporate worlds. Harv founded and ran Harv Johnson & Associates in Boston for many years before retiring to Florida. Harv served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant. Harv will be remembered for his sharp wit and optimistic outlook on life. If there was a body of water anywhere in sight, Harv would have his fishing pole ready to cast. Although ill for many years, there was rarely a day that he spoke of the struggles of living with his illness. A celebration of Harv's life will be held in Medway at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or a charity of your choice. Published in St. Petersburg Times on July 11, 2010
