Oh no! Chip and I were very good friends in junior high and high school. I had been personally corresponding with him over the last few years. His son is a phenomenon in the utube world and was Chip was  a part of it. This seems very sudden!

I, too, have corresponded with Hoyt on a regular basis and can find no evidence of his having passed. I have reached out to him via other means and should hear something soon at which time I will either confirm or deny this very sad news.

Sadly, the news of Bob's passing is true. His son, Zack, called me on Tuesday to let me know that he died Monday. He had been having lung issues for years and had been in and our of the hospital since June. He was being treated with chemo for pancreatic cancer which ultimately led to liver failure.

Bob moved to Austin,TX the same time that I moved to North Carolina. We stayed in touch over the years but I hadn't seen him for over 36 years.Happily, we were both in Florida this past April and were able to get together one evening for dinner. I considered him one of my best friends and I'm sure he will be truly missed by the many friends he made throughout his life.

If you want to see him in the last few years, he was on youtube with his son, Zack, a lot. Just go to YouTube and it's under Asmongold. He has a nice tribute to his Dad.

This is another sad addition to our memory catalog. Hoyt and I have remained friends since meeting at NEHI. He was intelligent, had a great sense of humor, and a great outlook on life. Pancreatic cancer has taken more of my male friends than any other form and always within a very short time after diagnosis. I wish his family heartfelt prayers as they celebrate a life well lived.
