Betty Suddarth (Carl)

Betty Suddarth Carl, 70, of St. Cloud, FL, passed away May 12, 2017 at her home under hospice care and surrounded by her family and loved ones as she lost her battle with cancer.

Betty was born in Knoxville, TN and grew up in St. Petersburg, FL, where she graduated from Northeast High School.  She lived in Atlanta, Tallahassee and Kissimmee, before making St. Cloud her home in 1973.  She shared her spirit of giving and service through a lifetime of participation in a number of organizations, including the St. Cloud Junior Women's Club, the Young Republicans of Osceola, Help Now of Osceola, Inc. and the Kissimmee Bay Rotary Club, among others.  Betty was active in the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce and supported the City of St. Cloud and Osceola County in numerous ways through her career as a small business owner with St. Cloud Florist and the Flower Mill, Keller Manor, the Travel Store and the St. Cloud Hloiday Festival.  She was also an active real estate agent.

In her public life, Betty was known for always being available to help or contribute her time and energy for a good cause.  In her personal and family life she was a beacon of light and known for her bright humor, her willingness to go anywhere, anytime, her love of travel and playing cards and her quickness to comment,  "Bite Me!"

Betty has joined her late, beloved husband Richard Carl and is survived by her two daughters and two step-sons; four grandchildren; two sisters, two brothers and many nieces and nephews.

I am so sad about the passing of Betty.  We were such good friends in elemetary school we use to go to her house after school and play records in her garage and other classmates would come over to dance.

It sounds like she had a wonderful life.  I am sad that we didn't connect after school.
