Mendel Moody and I skipped school one day. We could not, for the life of us, figure out who turned us in, until we got to our fifth period Mech Drawing class. Mr. Buchaus was snickering the whole time we were in class until we figured out it was he who had caught us. Mr. Buchaus was our favorite senior year teacher.

One of my favorite people. Always laid back but stern at the same time.
Drew a locomotive in senior year. Took me forever! Mr. Buchaus was going to bust my grade because I took so long. He compared my drawing time to a previous student's time for the same locomotive. Said I took 3 times as long. He was right. The only problem was that when we compared the two drawings, the previous student didn't include about 2/3 of the details that were in the original.
Mr. Buchaus and I split the difference. He still busted me for being slow but gave me credit for details.
Enjoyed his class for all 3 years.
