Henry Sorenson Fraze, 77, of St. Petersburg, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016. A native of St. Petersburg, Henry was a graduate of Northeast High School, University of Florida (BS) and Penn State University (MS). As a life-long educator, he shared his knowledge and faith with students of Northeast High School, University of South Florida, St. Petersburg Jr. College and Canterbury School of Florida. He impacted lives through his service as president of the Florida Association of Science Teachers, piloting of the YES-We Care program and as Faculty Coordinator of SE Consortium for Minorities in Engineering (SECME). A devout Christian, he was active at Christ United Methodist Church and later at Faith Covenant Church. He is survived by his sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Carolyn Kennedy; his brothers, Franklin (Helga) and Richard (Nancy); his sisters, Clarissa and Carolyn Marie (Ray); his children, Cheryl, Jay (Deb), Jon (Lisbeth) and Martha (Greg); ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
